As many already now, there has been a recall issued on all Auvi-Q epinephrine auto-injectors. These patients are being advised to contact us regarding a replacement prescription. The Sanofi company is supposed to pick up the costs. Details are available here:
Many patients have already contacted us, and we are currently trying to reach out to as many affected patients as possible. One remarkably beneficial result of our recent EMR switch is the creation of a searchable database for our medical records. We can actually generate a list of anyone we have given an Auvi-Q prescription in the past 6 months and call them directly, and that is exactly what we are doing now.
However, using paper records there is no way to generate such a list, so we can only go back six months. It is important that all patients who use Auvi-Q contact us for replacement prescriptions.
